Upper
Made from 1.6-1.8mm suede leather with characteristics of waterproofing, breathability, abrasion-resistant surface and durability
The heat applied "embossing" on the upper is a functional feature: it is done in such a way as to strengthen the leather even more
- it is deliberately placed in certain areas, for example, opposite the lacing loops where when the boots are laced it works as a "cage" to support the foot
- also under the ankle cuff where it works as an extra support to the ankle when flexing
The ankle collar provides better ankle support, protection and comfort thanks to an Autofit 3D COLLAR in padded fabric
This is able to stabilise the entire foot without pressure points and wrap the ankle following its movement
Autofit Collar, thanks to the ergonomic design of the collar and to the special padding, ensures the maximum adaptability and comfort of the upper, reducing the impact stress that rests on the Achilles and malleous area
Great performance and comfort on any terrain
Gore-Tex (Extended Comfort) Lining
Laminate is made by a highly abrasion resistant and quick drying textile lining material
Also the highly breathable membrane holds a remarkable ability to disperse heat.
In this way, feet are protected from water, while sweat that is created inside the shoe quickly evaporates
ACTIV impact Technology, system used for soles construction using materials with physical and chemical characteristics, able to absorb negative impact with the ground, increasing shock-absorption and exploiting to the utmost the energy used during the activity
Ankle Padding System is made of a special Memory Foam which allows the uppers to mould to the shape of the foot.
This technical solution is very light and breathable, it keeps its dynamic memory in terms of last and thickness so it recovers its original shape after every use
Thanks to this system, Scarpa have further improved the overall comfort of the shoe and the capacity of the upper to adapt itself to the foot, ensuring the best performance on any terrain
Presa® Sole
The Presa® sole is made of SuperGum compound with an high grip and durability, pronounced heel and caps, which promote braking on descents and grip on climbs
In addition, the IKS (Interactive Kinetic System) technology, characterised by 7 shock-absorbing areas (domes), progressively and specifically support the weight of our body during our activity in the mountains
Exclusive to SCARPA, the SuperGum rubber compound was developed to provide equal or better slip resistance as compared to other high-friction rubbers but with superior abrasion resistance
The lug design of the outsole provides confidence-inspiring traction via 4mm deep lugs and the SuperGum rubber
It was formulated to deliver high friction performance in both wet and dry conditions, but at the same time offers 3 times the abrasion resistance
IKS technology features seven internal impact absorption “domes” in the outsole and midsole that function just like shock absorbers, compressing upon impact to absorb energy.
The impact zones are anatomically mapped to provide additional shock exactly where it is needed the most, while maintained stability outside those zones
The midsole material itself is dual-density EVA, providing additional lightweight shock absorption
Incorporated into the midsole is a Dynamic Stabilizer Torsion frame made of TPU (thermoplastic urethane)
The DST frame wraps under the arch and extends back along both sides of the heel, for outstanding rearfoot stability and torsion control
Laces, light cord loops system that evenly spreads the pressure. The upper is easily secured, avoiding pressure points
